Closely related to dragonfly, the caddis fly larva spends most of its life underwater. It lives on stream beds industriously styling its home from a tube of carefully selected stones and other small materials. It is transforming its physical world in a quest to create something. Is the caddis making a work of art?
As a small boy Simon spent many youthful hours wading barefoot in a shallow stream with sticks and improvised fishing nets marvelling at this wonderful little creature. The Caddis Cascade theme embodies this memory. Nature’s architect becomes fashion muse. This micro world is scaled up. Tiny stones become Swarovski crystal, in subtly changing tones, reflecting light like the shimmer of the sun on gently streaming water.
