Daedalus
Daedalus skilfully fashioned wings for himself and his son from feathers joined with wax and string, so they could escape. Despite his father’s warnings Icarus flew too close to the sun and melted the wax attachments of his wings. Icarus fell from the sky and drowned in the sea next to a small island, named Icaria in his memory.
